One day after a federal grand jury indicted former President Donald Trump for retaining classified documents containing, among other things, information on possible vulnerabilities of the United States to military attack, the Scott County chapter of the Republican Party of Minnesota posted an image to their Facebook page which incorrectly blamed President Joe Biden for Trump’s indictment and compared Biden to historical mass murderers

Today, DFL Party Chairman Ken Martin released the following statement on comments from a local unit leader.

Tonight, the DFL Party’s Central Committee ratified changes made recently by the DFL Party’s Executive Committee to put more tools at the party’s disposal to keep events safe and ensure anyone who engages in violence can be held accountable.

Tonight, following the conflict that broke out during the Ward 10 Endorsing Convention in Minneapolis, the Minnesota DFL Party’s Executive Committee convened and passed two changes to the party’s bylaws. These changes put more tools at the DFL Party’s disposal to keep DFL events safe and ensure anyone engaged in violence at a DFL event is held accountable.

The Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party’s preparations for the 2024 Democratic National Convention (DNC) were kicked off on April 29th when the DFL’s State Central Committee approved the Party’s “Delegate Selection Plan.” The DNC will take place in Chicago, Illinois on 8/19/2024-8/22/2024.

Today, the Minnesota DFL Party is announcing the five award winners that will be honored during the party’s 11th Annual Humphrey Mondale Dinner for their significant contributions to the DFL Party and Minnesota. The five awards, Mondale, Humphrey, Wellstone, Freeman & Growe, are named after historic DFL leaders whose legacies inspire our movement to build a better Minnesota for all.
