DFL Party Chairman Ken Martin released the following statement on the death of Amir Locke:

“Amir Locke’s death is tragic and my heart goes out to his loved ones. Facts are still coming out and the investigation into what led to his death is ongoing, but the slow turning of the wheels of justice is cold comfort to grieving families and communities in mourning.

“From the start, leaders in the DFL Party have made it clear that the criminal justice reforms we passed were the beginning of a longer process of change. It is abundantly and tragically clear that more must be done, and I pray a fire is lit under those who have been obstacles to that change for far too long.”
