About the Jen Schultz for Congress:

The Jen Schultz Congress campaign is a campaign looking to flip Minnesota Congressional District 8 to Democratic control after many years of failed leadership by the MAGA Republican incumbent. The 8th Congressional District is geographically large, covering all of Northeastern Minnesota which stretches from Duluth down to Stillwater Township and west to Mahnomen county and includes Bemidji, Brainerd, Forest Lake, Hugo.

The Jen Schultz for Congress campaign is seeking individuals to join our team as Field Organizers for the 2024 Election Cycle and become an integral part of the team to elect Jen Schultz to U.S. Congress and be a part of flipping control of the United States House of Representatives to the Democratic Party. Field Organizer Role:

Field Organizers will organize local volunteer networks in CD08 and serve as the daily point of contact for the campaign. This role reports directly to the Deputy Campaign Manager, and manages campaign staff in targeted districts. The ideal candidate has experience working in competitive campaigns, strong organizational skills, and the ability to exercise independent judgment and hold themselves accountable to meet campaign goals.

Job Responsibilities:

●  Direct Voter Contact: Execute comprehensive direct voter contact programs to increase DFL turnout in key precincts and persuade voters to support the campaign. Field Organizers will learn how to have effective conversations with voters to secure their support for Jen and turn them out to vote. Goals for organizers will focus on direct voter contact including door knocking, phone banking, text banking, or other methods of targeted outreach.

●  Direct Voter Contact Event Planning: Organize and execute direct voter contact events such as volunteer door knocks, phone banks, meet and greets, and other volunteer-driven actions. Goals will focus on organizing and facilitating these events multiple times a week to start, and every day/multiple events a day towards the end of the campaign.

●  Volunteer Recruitment: Recruit volunteers to join direct voter contact events to amplify our grassroots efforts. Field organizers will spend a significant amount of time making phone calls to prospective volunteers to invite them to volunteer, but they may also attend local candidate/party events, or meet prospective volunteers in other progressive spaces to recruit volunteers for Jen Schultz for Congress.

●  Volunteer Training: Train and empower volunteers with the skills and knowledge to door knock and phone bank to turn out voters.

●  Community Engagement: Build strong connections with DFL activists and volunteers in the assigned community.

●  Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of voter contact information and engagement activities. Utilize data to inform decisions and measure the impact of outreach efforts.

●  Represent the Campaign: Serve as the local representative for the Jen Schultz for Congress campaign within the community you are assigned.

●  Other Duties: as assigned by supervisor, Campaign Manager, or Candidate.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates must be highly organized, able to multitask, prioritize, and manage multiple deadlines, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. An ideal Field Organizer candidate will possess:

●  At least one (1) cycle of campaign management or organizing experience is preferred but not required

●  Quick problem-solving skills and solutions-oriented mindset. Must be able to take, give, and implement feedback

●  Ability to manage multiple projects/deadlines at once and keep calm in stressful situations

●  Excellent verbal and written communication skills

●  Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment

●  Reliable access to a computer and personal transportation is required. Ability to travel within the district.

●  Experience with or willingness to learn and then use a voter database

●  Experience in leading volunteer events preferred

Location:

Candidates must be willing to relocate within their assigned turf within 30 days of the start date, unless otherwise agreed to by the Deputy Campaign Manager and Campaign Manager. We are hiring for the following regions:

Iron Range Region

            ○ ((East) Koochiching, Carlton, Cook, Lake, and St. Louis Counties)

North Central Minnesota Region

            ○ (Beltrami, Cass, Clearwater, Hubbard, (West) Koochiching, Itasca,Lake of the Woods and Mahnomen Counties)

Central Minnesota Region
            ○ (Aitkin, Mille Lacs, Chisago, Crow Wing, Kanabec, Isanti, Pine, and Washington Counties)

●  Working from a computer for long periods of time;

Compensation & Contract Length:

The salary for this position is $4,500 monthly. All staff are provided with a full health care benefits package, including vision and dental. This position is Full-Time. This position runs from June to November 15th, 2024.
