Klobuchar For Minnesota: Deputy Political Director

Position Overview:

Klobuchar For Minnesota is hiring a Deputy Political Director for the 2024 cycle. This position will report directly to the Organizing & Political Director and work collaboratively with campaign leadership to develop and execute robust and effective political and constituency organizing programs. The Deputy Political Director will be responsible for managing various aspects of the campaign’s political operations including but not limited to: building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, coordinating constituency outreach efforts, and planning campaign events throughout the state.

 

Responsibilities:

Campaign Operations:

  • In coordination with the Deputy Organizing Director, managing a staff of Regional Political Organizing Directors.
  • Collaborate with the Organizing and Political Director and Deputy Organizing Director to integrate political strategy with our field organizing program.
  • Help in the planning and coordinating political events, town halls, and other campaign activities.
  • Track all relevant events throughout the state for Klobuchar For Minnesota to have a presence at.
  • Provide regular reports on political developments, stakeholder engagement, and outreach efforts.

Constituency Organizing and Stakeholder Management:

  • Work with the Organizing and Political Director team to develop a robust constituency organizing program.
  • Organize and lead outreach efforts to diverse communities, ensuring the campaign is inclusive and representative.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key political stakeholders, including elected officials, community leaders, interest groups, and party officials.
  • Represent the campaign at political events, meetings, and functions.

 

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in political campaigns, labor organizing, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of the political landscape, campaign dynamics, and key issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic campaign environment.
  • Minnesota experience preferred but not required.

 

Compensation: This position is salaried, at $6,500/mo. Staff also receive a competitive benefits package including health care and dental.
