DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW
Minnesota DFL Senate Caucus Campaign is hiring a Digital Director to create digital materials for various audiences and caucus members. The Digital Director will write a plan and oversee execution focused on targeted incumbent and challenger races across the state as well as help every member of the caucus create content and expand their reach online. The Digital Director will report directly to the Executive Director.

Salary: $80,000 to $100,000 per year, dependent on experience. Employees are paid bi-weekly and receive a competitive benefits package, including health care, dental, paid time off, and paid holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a plan to grow the online reach of the MN Senate Caucus and its candidates—think more followers, more engagement, more video content and showing up on new platforms.
- Develop content strategy, calendar, workflows, and timeline for campaign programs.
- Handle daily and weekly content requirements, managing content development and delivery.
- Use social media in creative ways that help campaigns get picked up by press or spark conversation.
- Stay informed on what is new and what’s working in the digital world, especially for legislative candidates and caucuses.
- Develop and implement a plan for voter outreach that accounts for each phase of the campaign that covers education, awareness, and ultimately mobilization.
- Strong knowledge of major social media platforms, focusing on TikTok, Facebook, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. Understanding platform-specific algorithms, best practices, and trends related to vertical content creation will be critical in this role.
- Contribute strategically to online fundraising efforts and digital paid media.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Be quick on your feet when news breaks with an ability to write posts, cut video clips, and get content up fast.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with staff.
- Previous work in digital communications for a political campaign, advocacy group, or similar environment.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple critical priorities and deadlines in a detail-oriented manner.
- Ability to handle projects with the appropriate level of discretion and confidentiality.
- Ability to work well under pressure with humor and grace.
- A team player who recognizes the importance of working collaboratively.
