ST PAUL – Today, the Minnesota DFL Party released the following statement after two-time failed GOP candidate Tyler Kistner announced a third bid for Congress in the Second Congressional District.
“Voters have already twice rejected Tyler’s platform of taking away Minnesotans’ health care by gutting the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid, and those ideas are even more unpopular today. Clearly it will take a third loss before Tyler Kistner learns that the Second District isn’t interested in electing someone who will rubberstamp Donald Trump’s chaotic and destructive agenda,” said Minnesota DFL Chair Richard Carlbom. “Even though Tyler is out of touch with the Second District on everything from health care to banning abortion, it’s no surprise that he wants to run again given his history of using campaign funds to line his own pockets.”
Kistner supports repealing the Affordable Care Act and opposes Medicaid expansion.
Kistner supports banning abortion and has described himself as “100% pro-life.” Kistner also supports defunding Planned Parenthood.
Kistner used his campaign account to line his own pockets, giving himself tens of thousands of dollars, claiming he was reimbursing himself for vehicle mileage. The amount that Kistner paid himself in mileage would have required driving the entire width of the United States 16 times.
