ST PAUL – Today, the Minnesota DFL Party released the following statement calling on Minnesota’s Republican Congressional Representatives – Pete Stauber, Brad Finstad, Michelle Fischbach, and Tom Emmer – to take action to stop the Trump tariff taxes that have left Minnesotans reeling from the economic fallout.
“There are four Minnesotans who can stop Donald Trump’s tariff tax. Their names are Finstad, Emmer, Fischbach, and Stauber. Their four votes can overturn these destructive tariffs,” said Minnesota DFL Chair Richard Carlbom. “How much damage does Donald Trump have to do to our state before Minnesota Republicans stand up and do the right thing?”
A bipartisan resolution championed by Sen. Amy Klobuchar to undo the tariffs on Canada – Minnesota’s largest trading partner – passed the U.S. Senate. A similar resolution could overcome the narrow Republican majority in the House if all four of Minnesota’s GOP Representatives broke ranks with D.C. Republicans.
