As part of the DFL Summer of Action, we are launching our Working Families Picnics! We are looking to harness our grassroots organizations in planning picnics across the State with a shared message: the DFL is fighting for working families!
Goals
- Connection & Building Community: We aim to introduce people to the DFL, share food, and foster opportunities for individuals to get to know each other.
- Campaign & Education: Connect members of our community to the work of the DFL by sharing our goal of achieving the largest Republican defeat in 2026 by winning elections up and down the ballot.
- Asks & Commitments: We will build our volunteer base by making specifics asks of attendees to get involved and join our work!
What do I need to do to host a picnic?
- Plan for the space.
- Invite people!
- Organize food and drinks. You can do as much or as little as you’d like!
- Work with your DFL Organizer in setting the agenda for the event.
How will the DFL support our picnic?
- The DFL organizing team will be available to help you set your goals and plan for your Working Family Picnic.
- Provide financial support to help cover the costs based on the number of expected attendees, between $100 and $200.
- We’ll work with elected officials or DFL-endorsed candidates to see if they can also join the conversation!
Getting Started
There are a few key decisions you’ll have to make to get started:
- Where do you want to host this event? At a local park? In a backyard? Another community space?
- What date and time do you want to host your event?
- How many people do you want to show up for you to consider the event a success?
