ST PAUL – Today, the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party is thrilled to announce that U.S. Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock will headline the DFL Party’s 12th annual Humphrey-Mondale Dinner on Friday, March 15, 2024.

First elected in a special election in January 2021 that decided control of the Senate, Senator Reverend Warnock is the first African American to represent the state of Georgia in the U.S. Senate. He is also Senior Pastor at the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, the former pulpit of the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Senator Reverend Warnock has long been an activist for equal rights, affordable health care, and protecting and strengthening our democracy for all.
“Our country is facing a pivotal moment to choose who we want to be, and we can either choose the promise of January 5, 2021, when Georgia elected its first Black and Jewish senators in one fell swoop, or the profane desecration of our democracy we all witnessed the next day on January 6, 2021,” said Reverend Warnock. “The Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party knows the danger our democracy is in, and more importantly, what it means to fight hard and win on the issues that matter to the people in our communities. So I’m thrilled to share my story at this year’s annual Humphrey-Mondale Dinner to encourage Minnesotans to keep working over the coming months to reelect President Biden and Vice President Harris and protect our strong Democratic leaders like Senator Amy Klobuchar at every level of government, so we can keep building on our progress and keep pushing our nation toward its highest ideals.”
“I am delighted to welcome Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock to Minnesota for the DFL Party’s 12th annual Humphrey-Mondale Dinner,” said DFL Chairman Ken Martin. “Senator Reverend Warnock has been a champion for justice, fairness, and equal opportunity since long before he entered politics. His two back to back victories show that Democrats can run on our values and win even in the most competitive elections. I look forward to hearing from the Senator Reverend about how Democrats can organize the coalition needed to defend our democracy from an unprecedented threat in 2024.”
