Scott Jensen Killed Tax Relief for Farmers He Now Claims to Support

08/03/2022

Scott Jensen led the charge against a bipartisan deal that would have provided relief for farmers, urging Republicans to walk away from and “hold the line” against the deal after it was announced. That deal would have expanded the Beginning Farmers Tax Credit and the Agriculture Homestead Credit, which Jensen now claims to support in his Farmfest plan.

“Scott Jensen wants everyone to forget that he chose partisan politics over Minnesota’s family farmers. The tax relief for farmers that Scott Jensen now claims to support would already be law if he hadn’t pushed Senate Republicans to kill the bipartisan budget deal,” said DFL Party Chairman Ken Martin. “Scott Jensen showed no leadership on agriculture while in the state Legislature, so it’s unsurprising that he has thrown farmers under the bus on the campaign trail.”
