Today, Wednesday, October 26, DFL Party Chairman Ken Martin released the following statement after Donald Trump endorsed Big Lie proponent Scott Jensen for Minnesota governor:

“Scott Jensen has embraced the Big Lie, even calling for throwing our Secretary of State in jail. Now, Donald Trump has rewarded him with an endorsement,” said DFL Party Chairman Ken Martin. “Fortunately, voters who don’t want their governor to jail their political enemies and spread dangerous lies about our elections can prevent that from happening in Minnesota by re-electing Tim Walz.”

Jensen won the Minnesota Republican gubernatorial nomination after telling Republican activists that if he became governor, Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon would be jailed. Jensen doubled down on those comments in appeals to Republican delegates to the Minnesota GOP convention. Jensen has also promoted “2000 mules,” a film that pushes thoroughly debunked conspiracy theories about how the 2020 election was stolen.

Yesterday, Trump endorsed Kim Crockett, an election-denier running for Minnesota Secretary of State who has been an apologist for Trump and the Big Lie.
