Title: Finance Director
Status: Full-time employment
The Minnesota DFL Senate Caucus Campaign is hiring a Finance Director. The Finance Director will design and implement the caucus finance plan, oversee all fundraising activities, including targeted incumbent and challenger races across the state, train candidates and staff on fundraising best practices; and be the primary point of contact on all things related to fundraising. The Finance Director reports directly to the Executive Director.
Qualified applicants need to have demonstrated skills in developing a fundraising plan, and raising through the mail, emails, and events. This position will also manage member and staff call time, finance skills, training, and development. The Director should have experience managing a team and working with principals, and donors. The salary is commensurate with experience with the salary band between $95-125K annually. Employees are paid on a bi-weekly basis and receive a competitive benefits package.

MN DFL SENATE CAUCUS FINANCE DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION
OVERVIEW
The Finance Director will oversee the fundraising operations of the MN DFL Senate Caucus during the 2026 cycle. The work will include but is not limited to developing a finance plan, hiring and managing staff, training candidates, and managing MN Senator engagement in the program.
The candidate needs sound judgment, political savvy, fundraising ability, and a work ethic of the highest degree.
The Finance Director will share the following commitments and values:

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing and executing the fundraising plan for maintaining the Senate DFL majority, in concert with the Executive Director, and the Senate Leadership team.
- Directing and scheduling donor meetings.
- Conducting training for members, candidates, and staff.
- Researching potential donors and managing call time.
- Planning and successfully executing fundraising events.
- Developing a plan to cultivate and grow grassroots giving to the caucus; – Creating and maintaining systems for prospecting, donor tracking, and reporting to donors.
- Working with candidates and staff to set fundraising goals, train in fundraising skills, track/report on success, and build strong finance operations that support their campaign budget.
QUALIFICATIONS
- One to two cycles of experience in political fundraising and campaigns with a strong track record of success.
- Proficient in NGP-VAN and ActBlue. Knowledge of Warchest and Minnesota
- Campaign Finance laws and regulations are a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of Excel/Google Sheets.
- Ability to effectively organize fundraising data.
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, and a willingness to hold self and others accountable to goals.
- Aptitude for projecting revenue and managing budgets.
- Team player with a positive attitude that is able to motivate others.
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including frequent evening and weekend work, and ability to travel statewide.
- Commitment to winning and retaining a DFL majority in the Minnesota Senate.
