Minnesota House DFL Field Director

Full Time Election Cycle

The Minnesota House DFL is seeking a committed individual to run an aggressive and strategic field program that will be instrumental in retaining the DFL (Democratic-Farmer-Labor) majority in the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2022. Qualified candidates interested in serving as Field Director on a statewide legislative caucus campaign will create and execute the 2022 House DFL field plan in partnership with House DFL Leadership. This would be a campaign position running through Election Day 2022.

The Field Director will be responsible for overseeing the 2022 field program. Duties include:

  • managing all aspects of the field program;
  • drafting and implementing the general field plan;
  • hiring, training and managing staff;
  • maintaining relationships with all partner organizations;
  • developing metrics to assess progress using data;
  • working with legislative candidates on field activities, as needed, and
  • any other campaign related tasks, as needed.

The Field Director will report to the Campaign Director.


Ideal candidate will be highly organized, highly motivated and capable of working in a demanding work environment.

Additionally, candidates should have:

  • commitment to electing DFLers to state government;
  • two campaign cycles of field experience;
  • at least one campaign cycle managing staff or equivalent experience;
  • experience with Get Out The Vote operations;
  • experience with VAN/VoteBuilder;
  • extensive experience with Excel, and
  • be willing to relocate to Saint Paul, MN.
