The Minnesota DFL Party is hiring a full-time Field Organizer to work on behalf of state and local candidates, with a strong focus on re-electing Senator Amy Klobuchar. This is an entry level role with room for growth for those interested in an organizing position.
Our organizing program is committed to the belief that campaigns are won in the field. While this starts with talking to every voter, we aim to engage with communities on a deeper level, and lay the organizing groundwork for years to come.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, lead and execute grassroots field activities for volunteers such as relational organizing meetings, phone banks, and door knocks.
- Recruit, train, manage and support a team of volunteers to participate in direct voter contact and expand the volunteer network.
- Serve as the local representative for the reelection campaign within the community you are assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Be highly organized and motivated to run volunteer events and manage volunteers.
- Be willing and able to work long hours, including occasional nights and weekends
- Ability to work both diligently and independently as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle.
A plus but not required:
- Minnesota experience or ties to the state
- Experience volunteering on an electoral campaign
Compensation: This is a salaried position at $4,500/mo. Staff also receive a competitive benefits package including health care and dental.
