Coordinated Campaign Deputy Operations Director Job Description


The Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party is seeking a dynamic and strategic Deputy Operations Director to join our team and assist in the operational excellence of the DFL Coordinated Campaign for the 2024 cycle.

As Deputy Operations Director, you will play an important role in ensuring the seamless functioning of the day-to-day operations of the Coordinated Campaign. In this role, you will support operational processes and maintain systems that empower our staff, enhance communication across departments, and drive the logistical success of our campaign initiatives. 

The Deputy Operations Director reports to the Operations Director/COO with a preferred start date of June 3, 2024. This position is based in St.Paul, Minnesota.


  • Collaborate across the Coordinated Campaign to assist and ensure the timely execution of operations processes
  • Assist with recruiting, hiring and onboarding for staff
  • Coordinate with senior leadership team on procurement of services and materials, expense reporting and direct billing for vendors and staff
  • Assist in the logistical management of field offices across the state
  • Work with other members of the Coordinated Campaign to ensure the overall effective functioning of the team
  • Facilitate and support meetings with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Serve as a liaison between the Operations, Organizing, Voter Protection, and Data teams
  • Oversee special projects at the discretion of the Operations Director/COO and Coordinated Campaign leadership team and perform other duties as assigned

  • Expertise with the Google suite and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle
  • Ability to work long or irregular hours, including some nights and weekends
  • Demonstrated commitment to electing Democrats up and down the ballot


Preferred but not required:

  • Minnesota experience or ties to the state
  • Experience working on Democratic campaigns
  • An understanding of how campaign offices are set up and what they need to function well
  • Experience executing systems


COVID Addendum: While many meetings and events can still happen virtually or over the phone, Coordinated Campaign staff is expected to work in-person, within reason and with safety precautions in place.

Compensation: Salary is $66,000-78,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Employees of the DFL are paid on a bi-weekly basis and receive a competitive benefits package including health care and dental.
