Senate District 26 DFL is pleased to announce its 2021 Issues Forum series will start with “Medicare: Its Problems for the 2020s” Thursday, April 22 from 7:00 PM to 8:15 PM in a virtual event on Zoom. The presenter will be Mark Liebow, M.D., M.P.H. Medicare is now 56 years old and, like many of the people it covers, it has not aged without problems. Its Trust Fund will run out of money in a few years. The way it pays doctors and clinicians will need revision or renewal soon. Medicare Advantage is becoming an increasing challenge because of its increasing costs. Medicare’s support for teaching hospitals and ho w it pays for durable medical equipment are not working well. Dr. Liebow will review all these problems and discuss possible solutions. His presentation will go from 7:00 to 7:45 and there will be a question and answer period from 7:45 to 8:15. There is no charge for attendance. Email SD26mn.email@example.com for the Zoom link if you want to attend. Mark Liebow, M.D., M.P.H. is a Rochester physician who has been studying, teaching about, speaking about, and writing about health policy for 48 years.
