DFL Party Chairman Ken Martin released the following statement after the Secretary of State’s race was called for Steve Simon:
“Congratulations to Secretary of State Steve Simon for his tremendous victory. Across America, anti-democratic forces are working to erode public trust in our elections and destroy the legitimacy of our government in the eyes of millions. Tonight, those extremists failed in Minnesota.”
“Secretary of State Simon won because he campaigned on truth over lies and integrity over extremism. Minnesotans believe passionately in expanding access to the ballot box and to our democracy, and so does Secretary Simon. The work Simon has done to make it easy for every eligible voter to cast their ballots is incredibly admirable and I cannot wait to see all he will accomplish for Minnesota in his next term.”
