DFL Party Chairman Ken Martin released the following statement:
“Minnesotans deserve solutions, but all we are getting from House Republicans are hateful political stunts.
“The people of Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District re-elected Representative Omar so she could continue to fight for human rights and economic justice at home and abroad. The voters have spoken, and it is wrong and deeply hypocritical for Kevin McCarthy to disregard their voices by removing Representative Omar from the Foreign Affairs Committee. After all, House Republicans just promoted Tom Emmer, who has accused Jewish philanthropists of trying to buy Congress.”
