DFL Party Chairman Ken Martin released the following statement after the party endorsed Representative Betty McCollum on the first ballot:
“Representative Betty McCollum, the dean of our Congressional delegation, has been one of the most effective champions for our progressive values in Minnesota history. Our DFL Party endorsed Representative McCollum because she has been working tirelessly to protect our environment, advocate for tribal nations, fight for universal health care, advance civil rights at home and abroad, and defend access to abortion.
“It is essential that we re-elect Representative McCollum this November so she can continue leading us forward with courage and conviction.”
