Today, DFL Party Chairman Ken Martin released a statement calling on Republican Attorney General candidate Jim Schultz to release his client lists from the two hedge funds he worked for:
“Today, I am calling on Jim Schultz to release the list of clients he worked for at his various hedge funds. The Attorney General’s office is responsible for making sure powerful corporations don’t take advantage of everyday Minnesotans, and we deserve to know if Schultz has any conflicts of interest that will compromise that consumer protection work. Transparency from Schultz is especially important after Schultz denied that fossil fuel companies, which his last hedge fund invested in, misled the public about climate change.”
“Given that Schultz has no record of accomplishments to run on, and lacks any courtroom or criminal justice experience whatsoever, the only thing Minnesotans have to judge him by are his words and his hedge fund work. Schultz has lied to the public about his stance on abortion and refused to state his views on same-sex marriage or whether the 2020 election was free and fair, so it is imperative that we fully understand the work he did at his various hedge funds.”
