Monday was the best day for volunteer sign-ups for the DFL this cycle – until yesterday, when nearly 300 people signed up to volunteer for the DFL in one day
The record-breaking enthusiasm from volunteers matches the surge in online donations the DFL has seen since Vice President Harris launched her campaign
ST. PAUL – On Monday, the Minnesota DFL shattered its all-time online fundraising record. Yesterday, the Minnesota DFL broke that record again, announcing that the Minnesota DFL had raised over $200,000 in the first 48 hours of Vice President Harris’s presidential campaign through online fundraising alone.
Today, the Minnesota DFL is announcing that, in addition to the enthusiasm reflected in the party’s online fundraising, the party has also seen a record-breaking influx of volunteers. Monday was the best day for volunteer sign-ups for the DFL this cycle – until yesterday, when nearly 300 people signed up to volunteer for the DFL in one day, more than tripling the previous record.
DFL volunteers knock doors, call voters, write letters, and facilitate events. Connecting volunteers with their neighbors and fellow Minnesotans is one of the most effective ways to persuade and turn out voters.
Since Vice President Harris launched her campaign on Sunday, over 600 people have signed up to volunteer with the DFL, including 220 on Monday and 298 yesterday – more than tripling the previous record.
“The numbers we’re seeing reflect the overwhelming surge in enthusiasm for Kamala Harris from DFLers,” said Minnesota DFL Chair Ken Martin. “Our volunteers are the core of our operation – there’s no better way to persuade a voter or get them to the polls than a face to face conversation. The army of excited DFLers who have signed up to volunteer in the last 72 hours will be an enormous asset for our party in November. We are ready to get to work to help elect Vice President Haris and DFL candidates up and down the ballot.”
