Why is fundraising important?

•  The State Party is where all money meets. We optimize your contribution using a mix of federal and state resources in a way that no other organization in Minnesota legally can - all while expressly advocating for our candidates and against our opponents.

• We communicate your values. Our communications team works with our candidates and elected officials on delivering our message of accountability, opportunity, prosperity, and fair play. And we hold our opponents accountable for their words and deeds. While our candidates focus on their positive message, we work to define our opponents.
• 24/7/365. Campaigns come and go with the election cycle, but the Party remains, committed to building our progressive brand in the long term.
• We win! Having great candidates certainly helps. But the Party's day-to-day work, year in and year out, is just as essential to winning elections. The DFL Party works hard to help everyone win - from the Maplewood City Council to the President of the United States.

Minnesota Democratic Council

The Minnesota Democratic Council is our monthly sustainer program. There are three levels of membership which can be paid monthly or annually. Members will receive exclusive benefits like complimentary tickets to the Humphrey Day and Founders Day dinners and a behind-the-scenes election year briefing. Click here for more information.

Hubert H. Humphrey Day Dinner

The Hubert H. Humphrey Day dinner is the Party's largest dinner of the year. Party members from around the state gather to hear a special keynote speaker. Past speakers have included, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, President Barack Obama, CNN strategist Paul Begala, Rep. Patrick Kennedy, and Rep. Barney Frank.

Founders Day Dinner

The Founders Day dinner is one of our newest annual dinners that is held in the Fall. Past speakers have included, Vice President Al Gore, Senator John Tester, and Governor Brian Schweitzer.  More information about this year's Founders Day Dinner will be coming soon.

DFL Headquarters BBQ

Every year in the summer, the DFL Party celebrates its roots by hosting an old-fashioned BBQ. It's a chance for all of our members to get together at our Headquarters in St. Paul, mingle with each other and talk with their favorite elected officials.
