2012 National Delegate Selection Plan

The 2012 Minnesota National Delegate Selection governs the delegate selection process for the 2012 Democratic National Convention. It follows processes set forth by the Charter of the Democratic Party of the United States, the Constitution and Bylaws of the Minnesota DFL Party, the Democratic National Committee's 2012 Convention Rules, the Democratic National Committee's 2012 Convention Regulations, and the Minnesota Revised Statutes.

The plan was approved by the Minnesota DFL State Central Committee on April 16th. Following adoption, the Delegate Selection Plan was submitted to the Democratic National Committee's Rules and Bylaws Committee, which held hearings to approve plans on a state-by-state basis. Minnesota's plan was revised based on comments from the DNC, and was subsequently found in compliance.

The plan was revised further to use Minnesota's statutory caucus date of February 7, and the necessary adjustments were made to accord with the DNC's timing.

Discrimination in the conduct of Democratic Party affairs on the basis of sex, race, age, color, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, physical disability, or economic status is prohibited. In order to encourage full participation by all Democrats in the delegate selection process and in all Party business, Diversity Programs shall be implemented with particular concern for minority groups as defined in Democratic National Committee Charter and Delegate Rules.
